Here's my dilemma . . .
I originally had Windows XP on two hard drives that were striped together
(Promise RAID). It worked well for a year or so but then recently it failed.
Whatever I tried, I could not boot up the system--I think something in the
startup process became corrupted. The RAID process was still working fine.
So I had a third hard drive installed; I loaded XP on that drive; I added
the drivers for the RAID and now I can see the other hard drives (they look
like one hard drive on my screen because their connected together with RAID).
My problem is this: Because I set up my original system with a password the
only information I can see on the RAID drive is generic information--program
information and so on. None of my personal information shows up (I'm
assuming because the security on that system--as originally set up--is hiding
it). I know it is there because the RAID drives indicated it has about 30
gigs used (out of 120).
Does anyone have any idea of how I can get to my personal files (photos,
etc.) on my old RAID drive?
Many thanks--
hendrie
