Can't get past POST!

Hi, i have an Asus A7A266-E with an Athlon 1700xp.
When i switch the PC on the hard-drive LED and Power LED light up as does
the LED on the CD-Rom drive.
The floppy fails to 'light-up" and the monitor (powered separately from the
PC) does not come on..it remains in standby mode.
Has anyone any ideas on this problem?
Help much appreciated.

Problem with your graphics card ?

I had a similar problem and it was related to my graphics card. The system
would only do it with one particular card, and I think it was related to the
fact that the card was putting too much of a load on my power supply. How
big is your power supply?
