I have a laptop and it has been working fine. I turned it
on and a message said the startup was corrupt and
proceeded to repair it. Now it goes to the startup screen
like normal then shuts down and goes to a menu; safe mode
normal mode ect. No matter what I try it doesn't seem to
change anything, it still does the "loop". I contacted
the laptop maker and they said I recieved a OEM copy and I
would have to reformat my hard drive and install fresh and
of course I can't get any help from Microsoft as it is an
OEM copy.
I don't want to loose the info on the drive. Any
suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Unfortunately, the OEM XP Home Edition that came with the
Toshiba laptop will only allow a user to reformat and
install new. I asked Toshiba support was there a work-
around to reinstall the OS without formatting and losing
all my info on the drive and they said sorry but no, that
was my only option, besides buying a new copy of XP.
