Hello;

We have a situation at my compnay where everyone cant get
on the internet fine but nobody can get on Yahoo's site.
I know its a DNS issue because if I put Yahoo's IP in a
browser the site opens fine. As far as I can see there is
no problem with any other site. This has been the case
for about a month.

Thanks

Are you using Active Directory? Got your own internal DNS server set up with
forwarders (and all clients using the internal DNS server *only* in their IP
properties)? You could try changing the forwarder to use another exernal/ISP
IP address if so...

Hi

yes it is AD and yes if I put in another DNS for the
fowarder (not out ISP) it does resolve Yahoo.
Does that mean my ISP's DNS server wont resolve Yahoo?

I see this problem from time to time on Win2K Server
DNS when just root hints and no forwarder are the
configuration.

It is almost invariably yahoo.com or aol.com. And it is
always fixed (for a while) by just restarting the DNS
server service.

If you don't have your ISPs DNS configured as your
forwarder, try that.

Thank you
