Can't get online w/Vista 64 bit

Loaded Vista 64 bit on my newly built core 2 duo machine. Dual boots
w/xp on a separate SATA drive. Can't get either IE or FF to go online.
Control panel says network card is working. No problems from XP. When
I run the short diagnostic which pops up in IE when the machine won't go
online, it resets the network card, then is fresh out of ideas. Me too
;-) What might be the trouble? Hard to start evaluating the OS if I
can't get online...

TIA

Hi,

There is a known issue in pre-RC1 and in RC1 with marvell yukon network
adapters. If you are using one, try installing XP drivers on top of the
Vista ones.

Thansk for the reply. Yup, mobo (Asus P5B deluxe) has 2 network
adapters, both Marvell Yukon. Figures. I tried loading the drivers
from the mobo's setup disk, but Vista wouldn't accept the bloody things
because they weren't "signed". I'll check the Asus site 7 see if they
have any others, but I doubt it. This pretty much brings the experiment
to an end for me, if there's no other workaround. I know this OS is
hyper about security, but they're going to have to ease up on this, at
least provide a route for "informed override", or they're going to have
a hell of a time when it launches for real.

Well I got it to work. Tried dl'ing a beta driver from here
http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/7861/ Vista said
it was corrupt. So I loaded the driver from the ASUS disk via device
manager & it took (rather than just starting the disk from WE, which I
had tried previously & which Vista wouldn't accept as it was "unsigned).

Thanks for putting me on the right track!

No problem, I had the same issue on my test box. You'll be glad to know that
it has been fixed in later builds.
