I am trying to get my Visioneer Primascan 2400u scanner to work with my
new computer (Biostar M7NCD MB) on Windows 98. I was previouly using
it so I know it works, but since I have this new computer now with a
fresh install of Windows 98SE, I can't get it to work right. Other USB
devices work just fine, it's just the scanner. Problem being that the
TWAIN window comes up, I hear something move in th scanner, then the
scanner locks up. It actually never starts scanning. It's as if the
scanner can't communicate back with my PC, or something. No indication
of lamp warmup either. I've tried everything I can think of, including
reinstalling drivers (even newer drivers from manufacturers website),
checking my win.ini file, and a bunch of other helpful looking things I
found on the Adobe website. Nothing seems to help! The scanner shows
up on the Windows control panel, but that indicates problems so I can't
even get to test it there. So the only real difference I can think of
so far on the old vs new computer is that the USB on the new computer
is 2.0, but I doubt that's my problem. The program Twunk_16.exe hangs.
