can't get my mail

Hi there,
I cannot get my e mail,
I click on send/recieve and it comes up connecting to @pop.ntlworld.com@ but
then it says disconnecting.....what is this? I am connected!
 
Sounds like you may have the server name wrong. There should not be
any @ symbols in a server name.
