can't get my cd rom software programs to download on my computor

I just got this new computor,and i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong when i try to download my cd rom software programs onto my computor,I would be very greatful if i could get some help for this...thank you
 
Be more specific. What is happening? Any error messages. What kind of
programs?

You mean 'Install' NOT download. Download means copy a file from a
remote computer such as web server or ftp server.

Anyway, semantics aside. It sounds like the CD is not auto runing when
you insert the CD into the drive. In these cases you can manually
install the program by running the SETUP.EXE from the CD.

To fix auto-run, you need
a) To be logged in with Administrator priviledges (by default, autorun
is disabled for Limited users)
b) Check Regsitry and make sure that Autorun = 1 at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom
using Regedit.
