Can anyone PLEASE help me? I am able to record my movie onto a CD-R, however, when I put it into my DVD player all I get is a folder - no movie. How do I get it to save in the correct format to play on my DVD player. I have saved past movies (not done on movie maker) to the .avi format, and they player great - however, I can not find how to do this anywhere on Movie Maker! Someone please help, I am getting so frustrated with not being able to record the movie!!!!!!!

To put your movie on to a DVD which you can play on your DVD player, you
need to use some DVD burning software other than Movie Maker - Movie Maker
2.0 does not provide this capability. Take a look at http://www.papajohn.org
at the DVD software section.

Thanks,
Latha

So does this mean that without DVD burning software I can not burn a CD-R that will play in my DVD player? I do have something called NeoDVD, is this the same thing? I can't get it to save in a file that this software will recognize.

I also have something called NTI-CD maker that can create VCD's and Super VCD's. WIll this work. I've tries opening my video in both of these creator's, however it doesn't recognize the file.

Google for software called EasyVCD. This will enable you to burn a VCD on
your PC.

Edit the video project (movie) in MovieMakercand then use thecSave to My
Computer option. Then use the third party software to burn a VCD.

Are you saving the Movie or just the project? Use menu File -> "Save Movie"

On the website of mediastream (makers of neodvd) at
http://www.mediostream.com/products/index_neodvd.html it says that it can
handle WMV and AVI files alright. Do you have an old version ?

If u have an old version, and it cant deal with WMV files, remember MM can
export to DV AVI files as well. Try that.

http://www.papajohn.org

can provide you all the details of the procedures involved.

Hi Kathy,

What format of movie do you have, that you want to save to DVD? Check the
help section in your DVD creation software and see if that supports your
file format type as input. You might need to import the file into your
software instead of opening it directly in the software.
As far as VCDs and SVCDs go - your DVD player needs to support those formats
too.

Thanks,
Latha

You can use "MyDVD" software to burn the DVD. Use the output file from MM2 that has the extention of .AVI. You must set MM2 for copying to an .AVI file.
