Can't get microphone to work

How do I get my computer to reconize my microphone in the front connection

Not sure what you mean by "the front connection" could you please elaborate?
None of my computers have a connection for a microphone at the front.

Check that the audio connections on the front panel are connected
internally.. also, you might like to impart the name of the program being
used and with which the microphone does not function..
