cant get internet explorer to work with virtual machine

I have just bought new puter preloaded with xp home and when we try going to certain gameing sites it says we need virtual machine. I have went to sun java and tried downloading it but it wont work with internet explorer but works fine with netscape. Anyone out there have any ideas on one that will work with microsoft internet explorer because this is very annoying having to change from one explorer to another as i not real happy with metscape myself.

Personally, I like Mozilla Firebird. Fast and has many features that people
wish were in other
browsers..
