Hi,

Last 2 days I can't get in microsoft website. Each time I visit
microsoft.com it shows like I am working off line! All other websites are
ok.

Last days my PC was infected with spyware and virus but now it is ok, I'm
not sure if this has to do with it or not!

I have XP and IE 6.

Any help please.

Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no
extension. (Not Hosts.sam)
Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to
hide extensions for known file types.
If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD
Reboot an try again.

Or, In a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your TIF also, and re-boot.

Hi Frank,

In C:\Windows\System32 there is a file called "Hostname".

And please, what is Cmd window?

And what about
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc

You'll get a cmd window if you press WinKey+R and then type
cmd
and press Enter.
