how come i cant capture, or have options for 640x480??

Are you capturing via firewire? Digital video should be 640x480. Analog
video is much lower resolution.

What are you capturing? If it's an analog, it will be 320x240 as standard.
If it's digital you should be offered the higher resolution if you're
capturing via firewire.
