Can't get files to transfer--they disappear!

I created several folders for saving read email. In some of these folders I may transfer files, in others, when I move the files they simply disappear into space????? CAn someone advise what may be happening? It does not seem to matter where the folder is located on my outlook folder list.
 
Have you checked the view on the folders where mail is disappearing?
