Can't Get "File As" to work when the person's last name is: Eng

I have a contact to add whose last name is "Eng" - Outlook refuses to fill in
the "File As" field with anything, as if "Eng" is some sort of switch or
option in the contact name field rather than the actual last name. I added an
"x" to the end of the name and it works - does anyone know WHY this happens?

I tried in in Outlook 2003 and it worked just fine.

Brian - I am also using Outlook 2003 and it just won't work. Would you be
willing to try the exact name I'm using and let me know if it works?

Nancy Eng

Thanks!!!

I found that if I used the "Full Name" option in the Contact window rather
than trying to do a "quicky" new contact in the Contact folder, it works.
Odd, though - because when I open the Contact it puts "Nancy Eng" in the
"Title" field when I click on the "Full Name" option. I can select "Mrs." and
then put Nancy in the First Name field and Eng in the Last Name field and it
works just fine. I can then remove the "Mrs." and it still works. Why it
won't work when I use the quick add is still a mystery to me.....

I found that out as well. Apparently "Eng" is also a built-in title, even
though it doesn't appear in the Title drop-down. This is corroborated by
trying to add names like "Brian Dr" and "Brian Ms", which behave exactly as
you found "Nancy Eng" to behave. I wonder if there atre any other built-in
titles not in the drop-down.
