Can't get EBAY.COM to work right

My XP computer has IE6 and it all works just fine EXCEPT on the WWW.EBAY.COM
site.
When I'm there all the advertisements do not open, I get the Windows "Cannot
open" message on these. Properties suggest these are something to do wuth
DOUBLE CLICK.
This isn't a problem except that hitting "back" must be done about 5 or 6
times to really go back. During this painful time I see the web site
127.0.0.1 being shown to me several times. I think this is a local software
in my computer.

What gives and how do I fix this?

Thanks.

If you have pop-up blocker or spamware software installed on your PC, it
might be blocking the cookie or redirects to ads.doubleclick.com . Some do
this by altering the "HOSTS" file in Windows, SpyBot S&D does this if you
use the "Immunize" feature.

Sites like Ebay.com & Pogo.com, get paid by these advertisers. On some sites
you may experience a slight slowing of pages being downloaded, or page
errors, if these sites are blocked. But in most cases, it won't prevent you
from entering the sites.

In addition to the good reply you already got:

If you right-click on your Back button, you can choose where you want to go
back to - just select the appropriate page. It's easy. I also use a
customized hosts file so I don't have to see all the ads anyway, as they bug
me. And since eBay makes plenty of money off its sellers, I don't feel a
whit guilty about ignoring their paid advertisements as their site isn't
entirely subsidized by advertising anyway. Just my $.02.
