Can't get DSL connection on the "user" desktop- HELP

I share my computer with someone and Windows XP is
reportedly allows access by different "users" to provide
privacy on the same computer (ie. XP allows you to
switch "user"). I recently subscribed to SBC's DSL and
set it up in my XP desktop - believing that the
second "user" could also connect via their desktop.
I can successfully connect to the DSL from my
desktop but can't connect when I switch over to a second
XP desktop (via "switch user"). I can't get the DSL
connection ----- even though there is a SBC icon that was
placed on the "user" desktop during the DSL
installation. All I get is the error message: "Sorry the
attempt to connect failed".

Can anyone tell me how can I get Windows XP to get a
direct DSL connection in my XP-sub-user desktop?

Thanks very much.

Quite possibly your ISP only allows 1 connection at a time. A possible workaround is to purchase a router which has pppoe capabilities. (Assuming you have to provide a username and password to connect).
