Can't get defrag to work or scheduled tasks

I just upgraded to xp and I can't get defrag or any other
tasks to work. In the scheduleLog.Txt it says "No
account information could be found in the Task Scheduler
security database". Defrag stop b/c there is an error
with Global.sw file, this file is 3.99 gb and I can't
find the program to open it and I am scared to delete it.
Any suggestions. Also, is there not anything similar to
scandisk in xp?

Yes, But it is called CHKDSK CHKDSK/F fixes errors.
Type it at a command prompt. It will probably require
you to reboot.
