can't get contacts from old outlook

There has to be a way for me to get my old information
stored on Outlook 2000 into my new Outlook 2002. I've
tried copying pst files, and when I open outlook and
those files, it just comes up blank. What am I oding
wrong?

correct steps for moving your data to a new machine with Outlook 2002.
