I have an older computer with an Abit BH-6 motherboard. When I boot
up, the lights all come on and the fans, but nothing happens after
that. When I push onthe CD drive door, the tray doesn't come out --
and the hard disk doesn't whir up like it should -- also, the floppy
drive won't boot. There's nothing on the monitor at all. What would
this be?

Check for capacitor damage. On that vintage of ABIT boards, the capacitors
may be defective and will become distended and leak. If this is the case,
ABIT will generally replace it for free. If it's not one of the boards they
replace for free, they only charge $25 (as I recall) to replace it.
