Windows XP Pro
I have a Cd-rw under properties it says
used space 0
free space 0
When in Nero6 i want to erase the disk to format it but erase is grayed out.
How do i format it ?

have you tried another cd-rw in the drive to see if the format option is
available? It could be that the cd you are trying to format is either the
wrong type or useless.

Yes it worked in another CD drive.
There is no format option just erase & it took 25 min.

If you have erased this 'test' CD does it now have the format option when
you insert the 'test' cd?

Go to www.Goldenhawk.com and grab a copy of DAO for Dos. Extract CDTOOLS.EXE from it. Use that to erase the CDRW:
CDTOOLS /erase
or you can try a quick erase:
CDTOOLS /erase /quick

See if that works. You could also try erasing it with CDSpeed from
http://www.cdspeed2000.com/

or Slysoft's CloneCD, VSO's Eraser, or numerous other tools.

If the erase option is available after you've erased it, then the most likely explanation is that the disc was corrupt somehow and
Nero was too sensitive to it. If it is still unavailable, then it might be a problem with Nero; maybe it doesn't support your
drive. Was the option ever available in Nero for that drive?

It could be a problem with Nero. Try uninstalling Nero, then reboot your pc
and re-install Nero again.
