Have been trying for days to find answer. System Restore is taking longer
with each restore I try. Yesterday it reached 2 1/2 hours. Someone
suggested I went back to one of my earliest days (only had laptop on 9th
Jan) went to 14th started at 8.35pm and it is still running!!
Do you think that an answer would be to delete all restore points. Would
the new created tomorrow be okay. Had to do restore in first place as Flash
Drive crashed my machine, got blue screen, laptop rebooted and then got
message System has recovered from a serious error. I let a report go back
to Microsoft. When Restored I get the message to say it was successful and
laptop appears to work okay.
Would I be okay to reboot the machine while it is doing System Restore don't
fancy staying up another 2 hours or would that do more damage. Hopefully
someone has had this problem before.
I have looked in Kelly Korner and on Google and Microsoft and haven't found
any answers. Help please!!!

Have you done a virus check? If not, before doing any
system restores you should check for virus or spyware.

If your system restore still seems corrupt after using
above programs, then I would try clearing all restore
points by turning system restore off, re-boot, turn
system restore back on and try to manually add a new
restore point....Good luck.

Download Adaware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ and use it to remove parasites.

Make a note of the precise text of any error message. You can always look at these in Event Viewer. Start, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event ID: and Source Description are important.
