When programs are installed on my computer under other
people's user names, my user name often can't use the
programs because the registry keys can't be found. These
programs still work fine on other people's user names,
just not on mine. This has been happening for a long
time, and has really gotten to be a problem. Any help
would be much appreciated.

Brendan,

You have three alternatives here:
1) Read the user manual that came with the software in question, or
contact support for the software. Find out if multi-user on one
computer is supported, and how it can be setup.
2) Re-install the software in question, this time under your userid.
If the software supports multi-user on one computer, there may be an
option to enable it for your userid also. Or, you may end up
reinstalling the software again. Whether this will corrupt the
current user's setup remains to be seen.
3) Find all the registry keys associated with this software, and copy
to your profile. This is not recommended unless you are very
proficient with the registry, and have a lot of patience.

Cheers,

Chuck
