Andy I.

Hi,

For a slideshow I am trying to "check the box that says Show and Return",
which is, apparently, in the Slide Preview window, but I can't find the
Slide Preview window.......................

Help!
Andy I.

The Show and return option is located in the Link To Custom Show dialog.

1) set up a custom show
2) select a shape => Right click => Action settings
3) (tab) Mouse click => Hyperlink to ... => Custom Show
4) Select the custom show
5) Check the "Show and return" option

Thanks Bill.

I already have #1 to #3, and that works OK
In ACTION SETTINGS window, where we Hyperlink to Custom Show, selecting
CUSTOM SHOW produces a drop-down menu but it does not include a SHOW AND
TELL option.
I'm using PowerPoint 2002.

Andy,
When you select the custom show, the Show and return check box should become
available.

Thanks Kathy,

I'm using PowerPoint 2002.
When I "Choose Custom Show" as described in my reply to Bill (below), there
is no SHOW AND TELL option.
When I click SLIDE SHOWS | CUSTOM SHOWS there is no SHOW AND TELL option.

Is there another way to CHOOSE CUSTOM SHOW?

Andy I.

Andy,
I am confused. You started out asking about Show and Return. Now you are
asking about Show and Tell? I don't know what the Show and Tell feature is.

I do know that when I select "Custom Show" from the Hyperlink to.... drop
down on the Action Settings dialog, a new dialog comes up that lists the
custom shows. At the bottom left of that dialog is a check box for Show and
return.

You can also use Right Click --> Hyperlink to insert the link to the custom
show. When you bring up the linking dialog this way, select "Place in this
document" in the leftmost column. Scroll to the bottom of the list and you
will see the list of custom shows. When you select one, the Show and return
box (found under the slide preview on the right side) will become checkable.

Does that help any?

This works pretty much the same in 2000 and 2003; I don't have 2002 handy but I
can't imagine it's any different.

In the Action Settings dialog box, clicking next to "Hyperlink to:" produces a
dropdown. From it, choose Custom Show. That brings up a "Link to Custom Show"
dialog box that lists each of the custom shows in the presentation. At the
bottom left of it you'll find "Show and return"

Hi Kathy,

YOU're confused!? I'm the one I'm afraid. Show and TELL!! What was I
thinking?! ( My kindergarten days ?)
For Show and Tell please substitute Show and Return......

Anyway I found it. Everything is now working as it should, except perhaps
my brain.

Many thanks for your detailed instructions.
Andy I.
