can't find "OVERDRIVE" feature on x800 xt AIW

The help menu says that the OVERDRIVE feature can be enabled in the
following way:
"
a.. Click OVERDRIVET in Advanced View.
b.. Click the Lock button.
"

The problem is that there is no OVERDRIVE button in Advanced view. What
am I missing?
No OVERDRIVE on AIW card, maybe?

I see never mind.

I would uninstall drivers in safe mode, then run DriverCleaner from
WWW.guru3d.com

then install drivers and then control panel.

coudn't find DriverCleaner on the above mentioned site. I'm sure it's
there, I just coudn't find it. DL'ed one (not sure if the same thing) from
http://www.drivercleaner.net/

Tried uninstalling drivers in Safemode, then run driverCleaner, and
reinstall Cat 5.5. Same results. No OVERDRIVE featuere is visible.
Interestingly enough, after doing all that, my Profiles were still intact.
Looks like the DriverCleaning process didn't clean everything.

I'm opened to more suggestions (short of reintaling the OS)

Hey man
Same exact problem! I just got my AIW x800 xt last night and I was
very bummed out that I couldn't access the Overdrive feature. Don't
think I would overclock my card (yet) but I want to see my
temperature through that option. If anyone has a solution to this
problem or a different way to read the onboard temperature on an AIW
x800 xt, please let us know.

I read somewhere that a year ago the 9600 xt was supposed to support
overdrive but the early version of the card didn't have the right
temp chip installed. Doubt that's the problem with this new card..
Right?

PS Have you tried contacting ATI? Or a different version of Catalyst?

I tried the current driver and one before it. I haven't tried anything
earlier.

I haven't contacted ATI. Maybe I should give that a try.

Here's the reply from ATI:

Solution: The Overdrive feature has been disabled and we are working
on making the utility much better. The feature will most likely be available
in a future release of the Catalyst suite.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
