I can't find other groups (that I know exist). I have a
workgroup that I belong to but I want to connect also to
a froiends group- how can I using Windows XP Pro (also
how can I on XP Home)? We're all on the same internet at
a University and I know they have a group established.
Can I ong them? or is there an easier way to search them
out?

To see all of the workgroups on the network:

1. Open My Network Places.
2. Click "View workgroup computers".
3. Press the Backspace key.

Click a workgroup to see the computers in that workgroup.

However, none of that is necessary. You don't need to see, or even
know, the workgroup that another computer is in. To access another
computer directly, type its name in the Start | Run box preceded by
two backslashes. For example:

\\computer
