I tried to use add/remove windows components, and it returned "cannot open
medctroc.inf. I checked my .inf file and I located medctroc.pnf, but no
medctroc .inf. Can someone suggest how I can use add/remove windows
components under these circumstances.
Thank you very much.

Thanks for the response, the listed sites list downloads for the missing
file, but I am not sure where to place it. Is there a specific site which
instructs how to employ the file.
Thanks again

Hi ChasX,

I've uploaded "medctroc.zip" in my site here:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/temp/medctroc.zip

Download/Unzip/Extract the enclosed file (medctroc.inf) and move it to C:\Windows\Inf folder.

Thanks Ramesh:
I unzipped the file to my .inf file, checked and it was there. I tried to
open the add or remove windows components again and I got the following
message: Set up library medctroc.dll could not be loaded, or function
MedCtrOci setup Proc could not be found. Error code 0x7e. I wonder if the
whole routine is corrupt. Can the whole thing be repaired. I am trying to
avoid reinstalling Windows XP prof. It used to work, but I must have done
something wrong.
Thanks again for your help.

P.S. I inserted the XP installation disc and clicked on "add additional
