can't find incoming new emails

Windows mail was working fine until last night. When I click send/receive,
it tells me I have new messages but I don't see them in neither of my folders
(inbox, deleted or junk-mail). I also use AVG antivirus free edition.

Make sure those folders are configured for "Show all messages"
instead of "Hide read messages."

Also, AVG should have been installed with the custom option
whereby you deselect the mail scanning module. If that was
not done, you should uninstall/reinstall AVG.
