My friend had to reinstall Windows XP Home and now he can't find and access his
files that he had. He went to the documents folder and they are not there.
However, his computer is showing that 8GBs are taken up.
How can he access these files? I'm thinking they are located on another
(hidden) partition....?
The reason he had to reinstall was because Windows would not boot and the error
message was over a corruption of a configuration file, pci.sys. Because he had
a USB floppy drive, a Win 98 boot disk nor downloading a replacement file would
not work. Tried restoring the registry but got a blue screen error, and then
again when doing a chkdsk /r. Couldn't get to safe mode. So I suggested a
reinstall. : \
