Hi,

I am getting the Windows can't find path, when using a shortcut to open a
web page. This is the only time I am getting this error and the web page
does open anyway.

Is there anyway to stop the error from happening?

Vista Ultimate, SP1

Thanks,
Norm

Next time you open the web page, copy the URL and make a new shortcut.
Delete the old one. Will save a lot of grief trying to track down the
problem.

Mike,

I tried that, but still get the same error. It is a shortcut to my Hotmail
account.

What is the shortcut? Is it a shortcut to a URL? Is it a URL that does or
does not require www. Are there login parms in the shortcut?

If I click on the URL you posted below, IE goes to the pogo sign-in.
If I make a copy of the URL and paste it to the desktop and click it, I get
this LOCAL message in IE :<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
Transitional//EN" "http:
If I click on the desktop, right-click, click on NEW, click on SHORTCUT and
paste the URL you gave me, IE goes to:
http://www.portforward.com/help/portforwarding.htm

I would guess you have pasted the URL to the desktop, instead of making a
shortcut as I described in the third line above.

You must have some kind of anonomizer running as an addin to your browser,
to be redirected to the portforward site. I don't understand this.

Hi Mike,

Until you mentioned it I did not think it was important, but I am using
FireFox as my default browser. Will that make a difference?

Norm

Change your default to IE and see what happens. Also, make a proper shortcut
if you don't have one.
