can't find computer

i have two computers (win2000 pro) both are on the same network, both
connect to the internet.....but they dont see each other, and i dont know
why....dunny thing is, one of them can see my win98 machine...

any idea what to look for?

r both servers having identical configuration? Please provide more info like ip, subnet, gateway ip. how r they connected? How both servers r connected to the internet

identical how? i mean they are both on the same side of the same router.
they get all their IP info from it. must they have the same domain name?
workgroup name?

both are win2000 pro, both connect to the internet.....they just dont see

both belong to the same workgrooup WITHOUT a domain

what gives!?
 
Do an IPCONFIG /ALL from a command prompt window on both and post the
information here.

command from both PCs
 
i have TCP, CLIENT FOR MS NETWORKS and FIEL AND PRINTER SHARING enabled....

Yes they should be under the same workgroup. At least it makes it easier
when browsing for them. Also make sure that you don't have any additional
protocols like Netbeui installed.
