I recently upgraded O/S from Win 98 to 2000, and in the
process went from Outlook 5 to Outlook 6.0.2. At the same
time, I also went from a 2 gig HD to a 20 gig HD. My mail
is working fine, in the new client, but I want to be able
to view all my old messages. When I search on all my
drives (c, f, h, etc.) I can't find ANY files named either
*.pst or .pst. I specifically asked the LAN guy who did
the upgrades to save *everything*, and all my other old
data (.doc, .ppt, .exl, etc.) appears to be there. LAN
guy now out on indefinite sick leave.
I've looked to see where Outlook is currenty storing my
messages and the path is: c\mcleod\local
settings\application data\{3013E. I have never seen a
file named with a "{" and a bunch of numbers. When I try
to drill down to this in Explorer/My Computer, I can't go
any further in the path than "mcleod". It seems that the
rest of the path is hiding somewhere in the black hole
that is my HD.
I'm in a bit of a bind here because I am the executrix for
my mother's estate. The lawyer is in another province and
we have been communicating via e-mail. I now need to
reference previous messages from them to settle a
dispute. Help! If someone could reply to me directly at
(e-mail address removed) in addition to the NG, I would
really appreciate it.
