Hi,
This morning I had some problem with the MSIMG32.DLL and I couldn't open messenger or "Add/Remove Program"...
I found a "clean" MSIMG32.DLL, my Messenger work as well but I can't find my "Add/Remove Program" icon in the Control Panel.... I searched some articles and try some commands but nothing give me back my "Add/Remove Program" icon and I can't remove anything of my computer.....
How can I do to retrieve it? I need it to remove some programs of my computer....

Thank for your response...

Do you still have appwiz.cpl in the system32 folder? This
is the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel applet. Have you
lost lots of other stuff, too?

Hi,

Yes, I still have the appwiz.cpl in my system32 folder. I tried to pass the command : "control appwiz.cpl" from the folder but nothing appended.
But if a pass only the command "control" my Control panel opens but without my Add/Remove program icons. I also tried to pass the command "control access.cpl" and my Accessibility Options opens well.

I also had to retrieve the OLEACC.dll.

Thank you for your help.

First, this may not be the most appropriate group for this
post. However,

I suspect that you might have more problems, as well.

1) Run chkdsk c: /f (assuming that you've got one hard
drive named "c").

2) Boot from your installation CD and select the options
to repair Windows. (You DON'T want the recovery console).

3) Reinstall all of the critical and optional updates you
have previously downloaded from Windows Update.
