Thanks again freddy and dean-dean!
freddy:
I tried to search Windows\inf\ for 880c (both files nemaes and file
contents). The only thing, that was founf for HP DeskJet 880C was an
oem72.inf file for Windows95 (contains these lines:
"
[DJ880]
DriverFile=You_must_use_the_supplied_setup_program_to_install_this_printer!
CopyFiles=HPDriverFiles
Win95DeviceID=HEWLETT-PACKARDDESKJ70CE
Device=%device%
VendorInstaller="hpfpnp.dll,ScheduleInstallation"
"

System File Checker gave this output:
"
C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 99% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired
them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
"
but reconnecting the printer USB nothing had changed. First I got the normal
message:
"

and then:
"

and then, when I clicked "I don't have the disc. Show me other options":

You should be seeing a list of Printers, either through Add Hardware or
Add Printer (Control Panel\Printers). Everyone would have this list, even
if they don't have a printer. I would do this:
Run the , by right-clicking on Command Prompt, and
choosing Run as Administrator. At the prompt, type:
sfc /scannow
Press enter on your keyboard. The scan may take awhile.
Then try adding the printer, first by turning the printer on, then
plugging it in to your computer. Hopefully, a "Your devices are ready to
use" window will display on the screen. If the window displays and does
not close automatically, close the window.
If that doesn't work, try the Add Printer/list approach again.
