I used to be able to fax from Win 98 and Win 2K after installing windows
messaging and microsoft fax from the old folder in the win 98 cd.
Now that I have Win XP, I tried to fax and was instructed to set up the fax
service using the win xp cd, which I did and it all seemd to work ok until I
tried to send a couple of faxes. The faxing attempts failed.
Should I install the old windows messaging and microsoft fax programs into
win xppro to get my fax to work, or will this cause problems with the
system?
How does one send faxes from Win xp?
Normally, I used the fax option from the print options after I wrote a word
document.
Thanks for any advice.

Luis, you didn't state whether you had a dial up ISP or
high speed internet. I had a similar problem because I
have DSL and I found out you can't fax through DSL with XP
Pro. The only way for me to fax would be with Voice Over
IP.... too expensive for me. If you have dial up, check
to make sure the fax is looking at the right COM port.
Good luck.

Hmm, another reason to get cable.
