If I click on either of my two DVD-R drives to open or explore the contents
of the disks. Vista pops up asking what to label the disk when it formats it.
It's the same with bothe DVD-R drives. I can only view the drive using
search *.*
Help please.

Dogsbody,

In Control Panel, locate the section where you set your preferences for the
way your CD/DVD-ROM works. There are plenty options there for choosing the
behavior you prefer.

Thanks Freddy, but managed to solve myself I think
Changed the Global settings for both drive.

Deselected the UDF finalising of the disk.

Can browse both drives with cd & dvd's in.
Looks like a common fault with Vista home premium on the X86 processor.

call me a noob, but where can i find the global settings for my drive, i am
having the same problems that you had.

Right click on the CD\DVD drive in Computer and select Properties. On the
Recording tab of the Properties sheet, press the Global Settings button and
approve the UAC prompt. Uncheck the box to automatically close UDF sessions.
