Hi,

I have a multi profile setup of outlook 2007. Once I open one profile
and then try and close it (exit it) I can't get the initial profile
selection box again. It continues to keep my old session open each
time i reopen the application. This wasn't the case in outlook 2003.
Am I doing something wrong? How do I close out my session so I can
open another profile?

Thanks,

JS

Does Outlook continue to run even though you've told it to exit?

Yes. It appears to be running in the background all the time.

That's usually caused by a poor interaction with an add-in. If you start
Outlook with the /safe command switch, does it exit properly then?

How do I start it with the /safe command switch? Also I'm not sure
about any add-ins. This is all happening on a laptop that is one day
old with essentially nothing on it but the trial office 2007 standard
and vista home premium.

Anybody have any ideas here?

How do I start it with the /safe command switch?

Start>Run. Enter

outlook.exe /safe

in the Open field. Click OK. Make sure you include the space in front of
the switch.

Okay I'll give that a try but is this for troubleshooting or is the
way I will always have to open outlook with multi-profiles?

The former. If it works, that's an indication you have something else
keeping Outlook open. Google Desktop Search is one thing that causes the
problem.
