Can't enter text anymore.

Well, I've had to go to my girlfriend's computer to ask this question because
I can no longer enter text via IE6 on my W98SE-based machine. Seems that
after I did some Norton clean-sweep activities, I can no longer click within
any text bars on any web page and get a blinking cursor whereby I can type
text. Everything else about the web page seems to be ok such as being able to
click on links and get the resulting pages. I simply cannot, no how, no way
enter any text.

I would simply reload IE6 but since I cannot talk via typing to a web site
in order to get the software, I cannot even do that? Any advice on how to go
about reloading IE6 when I cannot type text into a text field?

Let me add that the standard menu bar normally at the top of the IE6 window
is also absent (the bar with "File," "Edit," "View," etc) so I cannot even
peer inside "Tools/Internet Options" to see what's up with the IE6 settings.

Again, how can I go about reloading the IE6 software when my current IE6
(which runs) is both deaf and dumb?
