steve

I am having problems trying to load a specific website (www.suprnova.org).
About 80 % of the time, the website crashes IE for some reason. I've
reinstalled ie6 to no avail.

The problem I keep having, is that I can't end task of the crashed IE, and
always have to reboot the computer as a result. In the task manager, I'll
see several IEXPLORE instances running, but can't stop the process on one of
them.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Steve,
There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite)

Download, install, *update* and run these two programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/

Additional information at:

Don

thanks for the advice. I actually already had run ad-aware to no avail. I
will try spybot.

Interesting thing is I tried loading the site with Mozilla, no problem at
all, comes right up. Unfortunetly, I don't like Mozilla.

ran spybot to no avail. Looks like I may have to use Mozilla just to access
this one website.

Get the advice from this forum. You may have a new variant.

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#det
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

If you get a 404 error or Access denied, try:
http://216.180.252.218/~spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.

Thanks for the tip. I think I found the problem to be with NAV04
...uninstalled it and it seems to be working much better now.
