My OS is XP Home Edition. NTFS file system. I right click
a file or folder, Properties, Advanced Attributes, and
the "Encrypt Contents To Secure Data" check box is greyed
out. How can I enable encryption? Registry maybe? Thank
you for your time. Abel

Encrypting File System (EFS) is a feature of Pro only - had you known you
needed it you should have purchased Pro - or ordered your system with Pro -
in the first place. You are eligible for a Pro upgrade, however.

Greetings --

WinXP Home does not support the Encrypted File System. To have
the native ability to encrypt files, you must use WinXP Pro.
