can't enable system restore

When I try to uncheck the box that turns off system restore and, thus, enable
system restore, I get an error message that says, " System Restore has
encountered an error trying to enable/disable one of more drives. Please
restart your mahcine and try again." I have re-started my machine many times
but every time I try to enable System Restore, i get the same error message.
Help or suggestions? Thanks.

Try This in Safe Mode?
