I have been having ongoing problems in communicating with
my router for online access. I recently installed a new
Linksys network card. When I started up my system,
Windows XP detected the presence of the new hardware and
automatically selected and installed a driver for the
Linksys card. Part of that installation seems to have
created an "Internet Gateway" and an undefined "Internet
Connection" through which all communication must pass to
and from my router, DSL modem and the internet. I can't
seem to modify, enable/disable, or delete this "Internet
Gateway". It does seem to restrict my continuous,
reliable connection to the internet however. I have
another computer connected to this same router/modem
configuration, but via the Realtec Network card that came
installed with the computer. There is no sign of
the "Internet Gateway" on that computer and it seems to
stay connected just fine. Any ideas or suggestions? RC
