Can't drag a text box

Have a slide with four bar charts, with text boxes
hovering in the blank area of each chart.

I'm trying to move each text box because one of the bars
on the chart is extending up into the box, which is now
unreadable.

When I try to select an individual text box, not only do I
get the gray marquee around it, but the entire contents of
the slide are selected. I can find the FOrmat/Text Box
popup, but the Position tab is grayed out.

If I try to drag the text box I drag the entire contents
of the slide except for the header.

How do I select just the text box to move and/or determine
the position?

Hi,

Is it something dimple like, you have to click the box first to select all
text boxes, and then click again to select the individual? Else, what
version of PowerPoint, and are they custom drawn or data labels?
