Can't download WD

I tried this several times over the last few months. Each time I go to the
WD download, go through the validation, and press the download now button, I
get a small window that essentially says it lost connection to the internet.
If I press the link that says "if the download does not start..." then the
current ie page displays the same lost connection message. Is this some
spyware trying to save itself?

I have all the MS XP updates installed, including the latest validation tool
