For those of you who can't download anything via Internet Explorer 7 +,
just use FireFox 1.5.0.4. Downloads like a champ.

I know this is ironic seeing how were testing Vista and all, but this is
only until
Microsoft gets a new beta for IE out or a fix.

there won't be a fix - microsoft doesn't consider it broken. if you need to
download something, disable IE protected mode, and put up with the warnings.

I'm not having any download concerns using IE7+ in Vista x64 with UAC
enabled or disabled. The basic rule is to know where your download is being
saved. I've saved them to a user file and to a separate data drive without
errors including the Vista ISO file.

Sorry for the double post, I hit the send button before I added my reply.

Disabling IE protected mode didn't fix the problem. Warnings and all
all files will not download. Oddly, no file attachments to emails will save
to the Desktop, nor or any other location.

Heh, can't download? Try can't SURF. From what I've read here - and my own
experience - IE7 is somewhat tempermental. In my case it won't run under my
limited account; I haven't tried it lately under my Admin account but I
suspect that won't take either.

Firefox wins by default... Someone should post that over at SFx.
