Can't download hotmail messages after installing Explorer 7

I'm running Outlook 2002 (10.4219.4219) SP-2 and have not been able to
download my Hotmail folders/messages since installing Internet Explorer
(ver. 7.0.5730.11IS). Goes on a loop requesting username and password for
the hotmail server. I have no problem accessing my Hotmail account via the
long way

Any comments/suggestions?

Uninstall IE7, for starters.

Hay mate,

Would you mind please telling me how you access your hotmail messages
through outlook?
I regularly need to search my message by body content, and not only by
sender/subject as hotmail provides... I heard that there are some gnu
APIs that provide similar facilities - is this something you programmed
yourself?

Or do you need to download a special add-on to enable outlook to get
your web-based emails?

Thanks! N

Depends on the Outlook version. Outlok 2002 was the first version to
support HTTP accounts. Outlook 2000 (and perhaps earlier), with it's
ability to render web pages was able to use the Hotmail web site for a
folder home page so, while it looked like you were accessing Hotmail via
Outlook, you actually were accessing it as though fro a web browser.

Since September 2004, MSN has been requiring (with some exceptions) paid
accounts if you want to access Hotmail via Outlook or Outlook Express.
Hotmail Premium with Outlook Live allows you to access Hotmail in such a way
that it works very similarly to Outlook with Exchange.

Why? I like IE7. The last XP upgrade messed up my Live Messenger login. A
patch was posted in another MS newsgroup. I'm sure there should be a patch
for this problem out there.
