can't download anything

when i try to download my pc does nothing ,
would appreciate any imput. I cant figure this out, tried everything .

What are you trying to download and from where?

It's likely a problem with security software, antivirus, firewall, etc.
Start by disabling those one at a time and trying again. If the problem
goes away, you will have isolated the application. Then, you will have to
try to isolate the setting that is the source of the issue.
 
Here is what who requested? Your post is not within a thread nor did you
include your original post so we don't know much about what the problem is
and because the one active article based on your information that I was able
to find had to do with Outlook Express, I don't know if you are having
problems downloading e-mail, problems downloading files from the Internet or
problems with both. Only the first article number you posted brought up an
article from the knowledge base, the rest went nowhere.
 
Sorry about that. I can download emails. It's other downloads that either won't download ie; files, programs. videos, etc. nor can I "save target as" to download elsewhere. Nothing happens. It's as if my download request wasn't recognized by the computer. Not even an error message. Any thoughts
 
Is this a recent issue? If yes, try using System Restore to take you back
to a time before it began. Start\All Programs\Accessories\System
Tools\System Restore.

Do you have a firewall? If yes, check its options to see if one of the
things it's set to block is the source of the issue. If you cannot
determine that way, they turn it off and try. You should clear the IE cache
before trying. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, select Internet
Options, on the General tab click Delete Cookies, Delete Files (accept the
option to delete all offline content) and click clear History. If the above
doesn't resolve it check your antivirus and any other security software you
might have, popup blockers, ad blockers, etc.

Is there anything you can think of that you might have changed, installed,
removed, etc. just prior to when this issue began or have you always had
this problem?
 
One other thing you should try, open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, select
Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab, under browsing, remove the check
from "Enable third-party browser extensions," click apply and ok, reboot the
system and see if that resolves the issue.
