Can't download any file from any site

I have the exact same problem you are describing and
cannot figure out what is wrong. Just as you the article
does not seem to be applicable either.

If you find out before I do what the problem seems to be
will you please let me know.....I will do the same.

Thanks goes to Henri. I have followed that page in his
reply to somebody's else post.
It works!!!
You can go directly to
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306837
and follow exectly what they suggest (it says that it
applies to IE5.5 for Windows 2000, but it worked for IE6)
How to spread this message broadly to help other victims?
