Can't disconnect!

Dood that needs help

ok - need some help pretty fast
3 symtoms I noticed:

1. My Network connections folder is empty (should have
about 5 connections I made earlier in the year)When i
create a new connection and hit refresh is disappears and
when I try to create one with the name of the hidden ones
it states that there is already one with that name -
though I can't see it

2. The connect to: thing in the start menu shows an empty
list

NOTE: only way to connect is to use IE dialup which has
the complete list [strangely]

3. The connected to the internet icon doesn't appear on
the taskbar - thus I can't disconnect later (have to pull
da cable outta my modem)

need some help rlly fast - as email will be appreciated
since it's difficult to get back here but I'll try in a
few days

I'm having this same problem. I tried searching on the
internet, but have yet come across a solution. Help
would be greatly be appreciated.

Research shows that it may be due to the last 6 MS
updates which caused this bug - Patch it up Microsoft plz!
