Hello, hope that someone can help.
We have an XP Pro workstation that we are trying to turn off Simple File
Sharing. I have tried turning it off through Explorer/Tools and also through
the \HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa/"ForceGuest" registry entry.
If I do a logoff it keeps it's settings, if I do a reboot though, it reverts
back to the default settings. I've tried it using Administrator, local users.
We are not part of a domain but are running the Novell client. I have also
checked to make sure that anti-virus or any other type of software that
would prevent registry settings are not running. Other registry changes, I
have a feeling, are also not saving, but I haven't explored too much in those
areas.
I'm hoping that someone has run across this and know what might be causing
the keys to revert back.
Thanks
David
